School Curriculum

The curriculum offered at St Clare's School can be a combination of :

- School based subjects

- subjects offered through School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE)

- subjects/courses through TAFE eg. CGEA

School based subjects are based on the Curriculum Frameworks in Yrs 8-10 and Curriculum Council approved in Yrs 11-12.

SIDE has provided St Clare's School the opportunity to enrich a student's curriculum by offering subjects the school is unable to provide. SIDE subjects are conducted at the school with student's working through modules provided by SIDE.. SIDE lecturers are available to visit students if necessary and can be contacted readily by phone, a class teacher is on hand to help students if lectures from SIDE are unavailable.

The Certificate of General Education for Adults (CGEA) is offered at three levels at St Clare's School. Certificate 1 Introductory, Certificate 1 and Certificate 11. Certificate 11 is considered to be equivalent to Year 10 for the purposes of TAFE entry and entry to some government departments.

CGEA is particularly suitable for students who have missed out on large chunks of their education.
